Surveying and mapping data

With drones we measure areas, volumes and heights quickly and accurately. You get orthophotos, 3D models and mapping data for construction, land, forestry and planning, without anyone walking the area with a survey pole.

Overview

A ten-hectare area can be mapped in an hour. The drone photographs the ground in a dense pattern, and from the images we build an orthophoto, a true-to-scale map where every point can be measured, and a 3D model of the terrain. With ground control points we reach centimetre accuracy.

Common jobs are volume calculation of gravel, soil and timber stockpiles, documentation of construction sites before, during and after, mapping ahead of planning and design, and follow-up of felling, planting and storm damage in forests.

You get the material in the formats you work in: georeferenced images, contour lines, point clouds and models for CAD, GIS or ordinary mapping software, together with a report describing how the survey was done and the accuracy achieved.

What is included

01

Orthophoto

True-to-scale aerial image where you can measure distances and areas directly.

02

Volume calculation

Exact volumes of stockpiles, excavations and masses.

03

3D models and elevation maps

Terrain model, contour lines and point cloud for design work.

04

Ground control points

Surveyed reference points for centimetre accuracy.

05

Formats for CAD and GIS

GeoTIFF, DXF, LAS, OBJ and whatever else you need.

06

Follow-up over time

The same area measured again shows changes exactly.

A good fit for

  • Construction and civil worksMasses, excavations and progress documentation throughout the project.
  • Quarries and gravel companiesStock volumes for inventory and invoicing.
  • ForestryFelling, planting and damage mapped in a morning.
  • Municipalities and plannersUp-to-date mapping data ahead of detailed plans and design.

How it works

  1. 1

    The goal of the job

What should be measured, what accuracy is required and in what format do you want the result?

  2. 2

    Planning

Flight plan, permits, control points and timing.

  3. 3

    Flight and survey

Automatic grid flight, control points measured on the ground.

  4. 4

    Processing and delivery

Orthophoto, models and report delivered in your formats.

What does it cost?

The price depends on the size of the area, the accuracy required and the deliverables you need. A volume calculation of a stockpile or the mapping of a smaller area has a fixed price; larger areas are quoted per hectare.

Recurring surveys of the same area, for example monthly on a construction site, get a lower price per visit.
