Free transfer No downtime We handle the transfer
How to move your domain
- Step 1Get the auth codeLog in with your current provider and get the domain’s auth code (also called EPP code or transfer code). Make sure the domain is unlocked for transfer.
- Step 2Order the transferType the domain above and go on to the order, where you can also add web hosting or email. The transfer itself is free.
- Step 3We handle the restYou give us the code, we carry out the transfer at the registry and let you know when it is done. From then on you manage the domain in My pages.
Before you move
- The domain is unlocked for transfer with your current provider.
- You have the domain’s auth code.
- The domain is active and not about to expire.
- For .com and others: the domain was registered or moved more than 60 days ago.
- You can reach the email address listed as the domain’s contact – some registries send a confirmation there.
Not sure whether the domain is locked? Check with WHOIS
What happens to the website and email?
The transfer itself only changes who manages the domain – not where the website or email are. As long as the DNS settings stay the same, visitors notice nothing.
If you have email on the domain today, we go through the DNS records with you before the transfer, so that email (MX) and any SPF and DKIM records are in place all the way.
If you would rather keep the domain where it is, you can point it to our name servers instead (in Swedish).

Questions about domain transfers
Does it cost anything to move a domain to Sweden Sites?
No, the transfer is free. The domain is then renewed with us according to our price list, at the same price as a new registration.
Where do I find the auth code?
In the control panel of the provider where the domain is registered today, often under the domain’s settings. It is sometimes called EPP code, authorisation code or transfer code. If you cannot find it, the provider’s support can send it to you.
How long does a transfer take?
Usually a few hours to a few days, depending on the ending and how fast the old provider releases the domain. We let you know when it is done.
Will my website or email stop working during the transfer?
No, not if the DNS settings come along. The transfer only changes who manages the domain. If you have email on the domain, we help you make sure the MX records are in place.
Which domains can I move here?
Any domain with an ending we sell, such as .se, .com, .nu, .eu and .net. See the price list for all endings.
Why can my domain not be moved?
Common reasons are that the domain is locked for transfer, the auth code is wrong, it was registered or moved less than 60 days ago, or it has expired. The WHOIS lookup shows whether the domain is locked.
Can I keep the domain where it is and still use you?
Yes. You can point the domain to our name servers instead of moving it. The registration then stays with your provider, while the website and email are handled by us.
